Terms of Service

Last updated 11 September 2026

Agreement

These terms govern your use of the Tabento browser extension, the Tabento website and any related services. By installing or using Tabento, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Tabento.

The service

Tabento is a browser extension that helps you save, organise and reopen tabs. Local tab management works without an account. Cloud sync requires sign-in and an eligible account plan; workspace limits depend on that plan. Online checkout is not currently available.

Your account

You can use Tabento without an account. If you sign in, you are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for everything that happens under it.

Acceptable use

Please do not misuse Tabento. In particular, do not:

  • attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service
  • use it to store or share unlawful content
  • resell the service or reach it through automated means without our permission

Plans and billing

Local use of Tabento is free and needs no account. The extension currently displays plan options, but online purchases and subscription management are not yet available. Signing in or viewing a plan does not start a paid subscription or authorise a charge.

Before paid checkout becomes available, we will publish the payment provider, prices, billing periods, any automatic-renewal terms, cancellation instructions and refund policy. You will be able to review the applicable terms before making a purchase. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights.

Your content

You keep ownership of your saved tabs, notes and other content. By choosing to sync a workspace, you permit us to store and process its content to provide sync. By posting feedback, comments or images to the public board, you permit us to host and display those contributions so other people can view them.

You are responsible for having the rights to content you submit. Local workspace exports do not include account records or public feedback. Our Privacy Policy at /privacy explains what data is stored, what is shared with external services and how to request deletion.

Intellectual property

The Tabento name, logo, website and extension code belong to us. These terms do not grant you any right to use them beyond what is needed to use the service.

Availability

We work to keep Tabento and its sync service available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change features or suspend access to address misuse, security issues or legal requirements.

If we plan to discontinue cloud sync, we will give advance notice and a reasonable opportunity to export your synced workspace content, unless a security or legal restriction prevents this. Any future paid-service terms will explain how unused prepaid fees are handled if we discontinue a paid feature.

Disclaimers

Tabento is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be error-free or that it will never lose data. Keep your own backups of anything important — the export tool exists for exactly that.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. These exclusions and limits do not apply to liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. For significant changes, we will publish notice in the changelog and state when the changes take effect. Where required, we will give advance notice or ask for your agreement. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you can stop using Tabento and export your local workspace data.
