ABOUT TABENTO
We built the box we wished we had.
Tabento started as a private fix for one very messy browser. It turned out plenty of people keep forty tabs open — and quietly resent it.
Why we built it
A weekend script that refused to stay a weekend script.
Every tab manager we tried asked us to change how we browse — new workflows, new habits, new places to look. We wanted the opposite: something that disappears into the browser and simply keeps the mess out of the way.
So Tabento is built around one shape, a bento box. Workspaces hold spaces, spaces hold collections, and collections hold the tabs you actually meant to keep. There is nothing new to learn and nothing to migrate.
It stays on your device by default. Cloud sync is optional, and it exists for one reason only — so the same box shows up on your other computers.
What we optimize for
Four rules we try not to break.
Local-first
Your tabs live in your browser, not on our servers. No account is needed to use Tabento.
No lock-in
Export everything to a single file, import it on any machine, and delete it whenever you like.
Quiet by default
No streaks, no notifications, no nudges. Tabento only speaks when you open it.
One job, done well
We would rather make tab management excellent than bolt on ten unrelated features.
Start with a tidier browser.
